The Alcyon Center
The Alcyon Center, Mount Desert Island, Maine, is a retreat center grounded in the contemplative tradition. Set on six wooded acres with nearly 300 feet of cove frontage, rustic cottages offer guest rooms and a meeting space for groups. There are nature trails, benches, a gazebo and a hammock for relaxing near the water.

Restorative Retreats is a ministry of hospitality offered by Rev. Joan L. Smith in a warm and welcoming Victorian farmhouse-style Guest House in Rockland. She provides home-cooked meals, spiritual counsel, facilitation for retreats, and guidance for exploring the midcoast area of Maine.
Shalem Insitute of Spiritual Formation
The Shalem Institute provides in-depth support for contemplative living and leadership—a way of being in the world that is prayerfully attentive and responsive to God's presence and guidance. For over 30 years we have offered a wide variety of programs and resources for spiritual directors, clergy, lay leaders and individuals who want to open themselves more fully to God in their daily lives and work.
